VIRTUAL WORLD


There are two VR projects and one 3D unity sample below; VR projects are “Endless  Bedroom” and “The Dream” and the unity sample is a 3D static scene.  

VR project were created with Unreal Engine and users could experience them with VR devices.  The 3D unity sample is uploaded in itch.io and the player could use keyboard (W,A,S,D key and space bar) and mouse to move around.

ENDLESS

How do you feel when you're in your bed in the morning?

Sometimes it might feel like somehow you can't get out of bed. When you are about to reach the path to wake up, have you ever failed to wake up and fall into a loop of sleep again and felt that the time being in bed would last for the eternity? Even in the dream, sometimes, you might wake up in bed countlessly in a loop but can't wake up from the bed in reality.

This VR experience is basically an endless "Bed Experience". On the top of the structure, there’s a bed and the player starts the experience from the top level. Jumping into the holes in the mattress leads to the next lower level and finally, the player can reach the 1st level. 

When users reach the 1st level, they can climb up to the top floor following the path.

Controlling becomes hard as physical levels go up. As it becomes more difficult to control, the stress and fatigue pile up and eventually guide them to fall into the bed again and again.

The purplish tinted color symbolize and intensify the dizziness and fatigue of the mental status and make users to feel as they’re in the constant loop of sleep.

THE DREAM






It starts inside of laundry machine. The player can walk around and see how bubbles follow player’s movement and try to escape through the laundry room door. As they reach the door, it moves to other space, which seems like have a window in front, but actually it’s a canvas hanging on the wall.

The player can pass through the room or gallery like space where is decorated with some elements representing the game environment, inside view of the laundry machine. Through the hallway, the player can see the laundry machine in the end and there’s a teddy bear inside. Then you can passthrough them and finally come back to original place.

The hallway is presented as the gallery and users can get some hints from the images and objects that they’re playing as teddy bear doll’s viewpoint.

As they reach the end of the path, they could find the path to the laundry machine. There’s a teddy bear in the laundry machine, which represents the player’s persona and then player can enter the laundry room.












3D UNITY

3D UNITY






It is a simplified 3D static scene of “Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical” Movie. I tried to recreate one of the scenes with basic shapes and textures.

 The scene that I chose is when students tried to hide one of the boys from the principal, Miss Trunchbulle. A child is hiding under the coat.   

From the 1st person perspective of Miss Trunchbulle, the player can move around to find the boy by getting out of the crowd.

The player could play it on the itch.io (WebGL support needed) and use keyboard (W,A,S,D and space bar) and the mouse to move around.
