BACK TO
THE ROOTS
As a team project, we made 2 versions of a series of experiences to bring some interest from users. I was part of the first experience and for the first experience, users can play around with cutting roots by moving their hands over the roots and watching how the roots regenerate.
The top part of the plant, specifically we chose the corn, is presented on the monitor, and the part under the soil is projected on the table via a projector on the ceiling.
The root regeneration happens throughout the day and the video visualizes the process slowly.
BEHIND THE SCENE
The user's position is detected through the Kinect and mapped as blobs on the unity.
It specifically detects the user's hand and creates the blob according to the number of hands detected. The blob is visualized as a scissor icon and when it hits the trigger points on the roots, it cuts the part of the roots and plays the regeneration motion.
